Shawn was born in Kirkland Lake. He grew up there until the age of 7. His parents then relocated to Dymond Township, which became part of Temiskaming Shores in 2004.
Shawn did all his schooling in French, including college (Collège Boréal, New Liskeard & Sudbury).
He is a true Northerner. He studied Law and Security (Class of 1997). He married his college sweet heart in May 1998. He became a Truck Driver in 2001. His multiple jobs in the transportation industry took him to a variety of places across Canada and the USA.
Shawn and his wife have 2 children together, a 18 years old son and an 12 years old daughter. The family also includes a dog and a cat. They have raised their family in New Liskeard for 12.5 years before moving 20 minutes away to North Cobalt in 2011.

Shawn et son épouse ont 2 enfants, un garcon de 18 ans et une fille de 12 ans. La famille compte aussi une chienne et une chatte. Pour 12 ans et demi, Ils ont élevé leur famille à New Liskeard avant de déménagé à North Cobalt (20 minutes plus loin) en 2011.
